Over two decades of exposure to social issues as a journalist, as a writer and as a socially sensitized traveler. Currently working as an independent journalist, I write on water, environment, climate change and interests of India’s tribal population. Camera is my constant companion on all trips.
I live in Delhi but travel across India, the mighty Himalayas being my favourite destination. My journalistic achievements include two international fellowships: In 2016-17 for writing about Indus Basin waters from International Water Management Institute (IWMI), second, in 2015-16 for writing about Himalayan Communities coping with climate change from Grid Arendal, Norway; received first prize in 2013 at the All India Environmental Reporting Competition; a Rural Reporting Fellowship in 2011 and Swastha Samvad, an award for reporting on Health issues in 2008.
Have worked earlier at the Press Trust of India at Delhi and Mumbai and the Hindustan Times at Indore and Delhi. As an independent journalist, my works appear at London’s Climate News Network, The Guardian, Third Pole.net, India Climate Dialogue.net, Daily O, Hindustan Times, The Statesman, The Pioneer, Scroll.in, India Water Portal among others.
